The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship celebrated it's 20th year! What a milestone in the life of the fellowship. CBF's General Assembly marked a special milestone in our faith journey as well.
Each year at General Assembly the Fellowship commissions the new field personnel in a service. This time of commissioning was a time for us to reflect on the faithfulness of God that had brought us to that time of sending out. Both Jeff and I had felt a call to full time missional service in an international setting since our youth. Throughout our journeys God revealed portions or pieces of our call that eventually led us each to Hardin-Simmons University to educate us for ministry, to each other to serve together as a team in ministry, to First Baptist Abilene to nurture our call and be encouraged in ministry, and to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship to discern where our ministry would be. We could recount for you numerous other ways in which God orchestrated the pieces of our life that brought us to this momentous time in our lives.
During the exploratory conference in March we filmed segments about our call to serve that was played prior to our commissioning service. The video below includes our segment as well as our special friends that went through the cohort process with us and were commissioned along with us.
For those of you that were in Tampa with us in spirit but not able to be there physically and would like to listen to the words of commissioning given to us, watch the video below.
We just found your blog. Love it! Just watched the video clips from the GA. We can't wait for you to get here. Everyone is excited!
